    Possible RI?

Okay so I'm literally posting this at 2 am because I'm really worried. No pictures at the moment, but I will get them as soon as I can in the morning.

Skittles, my Burmese (she's about 2-3 years old.) has recently gone into shed. Last Sunday/Monday is when she started to get a pink belly and had gone into blue later that week.
She has just cleared up today and will be shedding any day now.

I think it was either Wednesday/Thursday/maybe Friday, I can't exactly remember, but I started to hear noises from her Viv. Now I just thought it was her breathing, because she usually goes huffing around when she breathes. But this was louder, and more wheezer than it usually is.
She's been doing it more often now.
I got her out yesterday (I didn't want to disturb her too much if she was shedding) to see her nose almost blocked up with some creamy/greenish coloured stuff. I tried to rub it off but it seems to be hardened on her nose.
One of her nostrils is completely covered, the other is almost partially covered, just a small hole open. (Trying to describe it as best as I can- will get pictures in the morning)
I have misted her Viv a few times today, I will get a temperature reading for you in the morning as well.
She's on paper towel right now (usually kept on newspaper) and is in an L shaped vivarium that's a 4x2x2 joined with a 3x2x2 using a 2x2x2 cube in the middle.
I'll be getting pictures of evertthing in the morning, so sorry if this isn't helpful right now

I caught her just now breathing with her mouth open.

Does this sound like an RI infection? Or is it just due to her shedding?

If I were to take her to the vets, should I wait until she has shedded and see if it's better or as soon as I can?

Also what do I need to do with the other animals in my room if she does have RI? There is currently 3 royals, a spotted python, red tailed boa, leopard gecko and 8 cresties in the same room. Would they need to be moved out now as well? All are in vivariums. No new animals have been added for about 7 months.

Thankyou for reading, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
Like I said many times, I'll be getting pictures of everything in the morning.

I be no means am a expert but if her noose was as crusty as you say green mucus in people is bacteria infection, I say go to the vet better safe than sorry like my mother says an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure (does that fit?) Best wishes hope she is feeling better soon ~ healing hugs from across the miles

    Re: Possible RI?

I tend to overly worry about my critters but that does sound like RI symptoms imo. Especially with colored mucus and open mouth breathing. You have a local exotics vet? I’d get an appointment as soon as you can, better safe... Closest “exotic” vet to me cancelled my appointment for Phyllis 15 minutes before I was supposed to show up because he was “uncomfortable seeing a snake that large” even after I explicitly stated when making the appointment that she’s a large constrictor, 9’, 20lbs when I made the appointment. In my case she’s just a butthead and had a swollen lip from pushing. Went away after a shed cycle

I say vet time. Green creamy goo hardened on the nostrils are not normal in shedding. Sometimes you will get whistling or clicking when in shed but not actual discharge. Sounds like an RI or something not good. Have you looked in the snake mouth to see if you see cheesy or sticky bubbly mucus?

As for the other animals, depends what the cause is and what it actually is. There are fungal, viral and bacterial RIs. I probably wouldnt move everyone but i would for sure mess with the problem snake last and make sure to not cross contaminate utensils and wash your hand after messing with it.

Thanks for the advice guys. She's got vet visit tomorrow with an exotic specialist (recommended by a well respected large snake rescue and my other exotic vet who is closer but isn't in until Friday) so fingers crossed it all goes well!

    Possible RI?

Vet asap.. All my Burms wheezed when in shed however never had mucous at all.. Thats a infection if its yellow or greenish. Unfortunately it's going to be hard for you to move your other reptiles but if you don't get them out of that room/area everyone is going to get sick.
Depending on what your VET situation, I would get some F10SC asap.. brian from Animalbytes TV (BRB) has a good video using a Fogger. All you need is a cheap one from Walmart. You'll also need a large tote to put him in while doing the procedure.

Lol my vet likes to see the big snakes. When i took Rosey in, all the nurses wanted to hold her as a couple of them never saw a large constrictor. I called my vet and asked her if she would see a Gila or Beaded Lizard if i got one and she said yes, she take care of one of those for me if i got one lol. If i ever have to take Caesar in, her and the nurses are going to go bonkers with excitement i bet haha.

    Kay so update
Went to an appointment on Wednesday with a exotic vet that had been referred to my by my local exotic vet who was fully booked, and also recommend to me by a well respected large snake rescue in the UK.
The vets was very good, I thought they were extremely professional and knowledgeable on the subject
Been prescribed baytril to give her in the mouth, and they have also taken a mouth swab to be sent off to the lab
Also have been told to do fogger baths with F10 about 2-4 times a day
Got another checkup appointment on next Wednesday

Somehow skittles was extremely helpful, and shedded Tuesday night, which removed all the green stuff from her nose. So she was breathing fine when we went as her nose was all clear! But she still had a foamy mouth and too much saliva, so vet agreed to still treat is as RI. Hoping to get the results for her mouth swab soon, fingers crossed they can actually find out what it is.
Also giving the baytril via the mouth is not fun.

Pic of skittles in her f10 fog bath thing
