    Sneaky clutch of eggs!

Well I sure didn't expect this one! My female Pastel Calico sure didn't look like she was fat enough to lay eggs, in fact I kind of gave up on her and seven days ago put the male back in her tub. I even saw them copulating. And yesterday she crawled out of her tub and onto the floor and was crawling all over the place, not typical of a snake about to lay eggs. They usually sit in the back all coiled up for weeks not moving at all. Today I opened up the tub to check on her and she was in the process of laying eggs! I couldn't believe it. I didn't even see an ovulation, such a tricky girl! Looks like she had five eggs, one slug and one still stuck in her belly. This is my fifth clutch of the year and my second egg bound snake, the last one passed three stuck eggs during the night, all three went bad in the incubator. Hopefully I'll have better luck with this one.

I paired her up with my Bamboo male, should be pretty good odds! I'm hoping to hold back a Bamboo Calico Pastel. This is my first clutch from my Bamboo male, I'm pretty excited about it!

Don't you just love sneakiness. Congrats

Do you perhaps have a pic of her shortly before laying, I ask because I want to see what she looked like that led you to give up on her.

I have a female that had three confirmed locks in December and early January. I have given up on her.
