    Interesting Feeding Experience

My BP has a well documented feeding history. Over the past year he’s gone from a shy eater to a every now and then strike the mouse with aggression eater. He’s never taken a rat after several tries so I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll need to start feeding him multiple mice.

Well tonight when I went downstairs to start the feeding process, he was out laying on top of his hide (a first on feeding night). I opened his door and aimed the hairdryer on the mouse. Within seconds he jumped in his S position and struck coming out of his cage (mouse still on the floor being heated). I jumped so far back....whoa!!!!!!

After collecting myself, I heated the mouse 10 more seconds and presented it which he attacked like no other. This was my 1st time seeing him strike outside his hide as well as swallow his prey. I was a little nervous watching because I didn’t want to interrupt the process and scare him.

I ended up not feeding him a 2nd mouse because I was curious how long the process of digestion would take. I checked back after 30-40 minutes and he was back in his hide with his head hanging out. I got the impression that he would of taken another if presented. At least I know for next time....

Something to try is to almost starve him for about 2 or 3 weeks. Then present him with a rat, he seems to have found his feeding mojo.
When he is an adult, it just becomes a schlepp with the amount of mice you will have to feed at every sitting.

I know I've gone at least 2 weeks trying to get him on rats. Not sure if I stretched it to 3 before. He's always been on the skinny side so my main goal was trying to put on some weight.

Anyone think it's OK to offer again tonight? Or should multiple offerings be done on the same night?
