    2nd Feeding Difficulties

Well today was supposed to be ledoras 2nd feed day. I got a live pinky like last week. She was sitting on her wood snoozing when I dropped the pinky in. She instantly perked up and started flicking. I know that she knew where the pinky was but she never striked. So I figured that something was bothering her. So everyone left the room and I turned out all the lights. She was like that for 45mins before I went back in. She didn't eat it yet. So I picked the pinky up in some hemastats and put it in front of her. She instantly struck and constricted while falling from her perch. Did she not strike earlier because she was on the wood. Is it safe to handle her on Sunday.

Ha ha....my norm female has been feeding something like that too. She won't leave the hide for the first mouse. I have to p/k the first mouse and dangle it right in front of her hide in order for her to take it.....but once she gets the taste of the first one.....she really goes after the next two

Ummm maybe she was waiting for "table service" LOL

Who knows with these snakes, sometimes what works one week doesn't work the next week with the same dang snake LOL. I figure as long as they eat I'll stand on my head and whistle Dixie if I have to!

i think its fine... ive heard of gaboon vipers sitting in one place until the grass dies under it waiting for its prey. and BP's are ambush(sp?) predators.
