Help! My boyfriend sprayed chemicals in my room with snakes present.

I was away for the weekend and I guess my bf thought he should bleach some stuff in the same room my snakes are in... after that he used febreeze on my couch. Will the fumes effect my snakes? I’m worried. It’s been hours since he did this and my snakes seem fine. He did put a towel on top of the tanks but I don’t know if that did anything.

can you get a fan circulating the air??

i hope you dumped him instantly. Lol!

As long as the room is ventilated well and the animals werent close by or in contact with the bleach I wouldn't sweat it.

If the bleach fumes aren't too bad, I would just continue with business as usual.

If the bleach fumes were *strong* (enough to make you cough), and we are talking Ball Pythons: Given that you definitely have to ventilate the area-I would also lower the humidity of the room for the next 2 weeks to decrease the likelihood of opportunistic respiratory infections that may take hold...I have one BP male that is 15+ years old and would totally use this as a reason to develop an RI.

The bleach likely isn't an issue unless the snakes ingest it. So, if your boyfriend bleached décor or water bowls and didn't rinse them well then that is a problem.

The Febreeze isn't going to be an issue unless applied to the snakes or inside of their cages.

As everyone says , hopefully no harm done , at least he covered them with towels !

Up the ventilation seems to be the main thing to be doing ..

A few years ago I scattered some carpet cleaner powder new a Corn snake Viv and before I could Hoover over the powder the corn was flapping round crazily !!

No harm done but it sure scared the life out of me !

Yea it wasn’t near my snakes, just the other end of the room.
