    Bamboo Ratsnakes Humidity

I've been looking into various different types of colubrids (Mostly ratsnakes, I love all of them lol) for a long time, just gathering as much information about their different care and deciding which kinds would be good for me. One I am looking into currently is the Thai Bamboo Ratsnake. There isn't a whole lot of information on them but for the most part I am able to get a good idea about the majority of their care.

The one big question I have though is what humidity to shoot for. I do know they do require higher humidity but I was wondering around what percentage to go for. Like I said everything I've read just says higher humidity but that could mean a few things lol.

So can any Bamboo Ratsnake owners tell me about what humidity you keep your enclosures at and any other tips you have would be cool as well

    Thanks in advance!

i just got my lil guy last week: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...mboo-Ratsnake) so it's just the trial run for us still and i'm sure he's still acclimating. that said, i use coco fiber substrate and keep humidity around 70. they like low temps and high humidity and i've read misting to bump up humidity even more (to 80%-plus) for a few hours day helps.

Edit: BTW is that a Bamboo Rat wrapped around your Blue Wolf avatar?

Thank you! I did see your thread, he's gorgeous! I did hear that they like the lower temps but that is very helpful!

Also yes it is lol. I had started my research on the Bamboo Rats around the time I was drawing it and I thought the bright orange/red would go really well with the grey/blue

    Bamboo Ratsnakes Humidity

As soon as he / she disappears for the shed time .... simply spray a fee times each day until it sheds it's skin ( perfectly ).

How are your Bamboos going on in the 'feisty' department ?!

Here's mine and a photo of my chain mail protection for when I change his water
