    Only down side is that it has a defense mechanism, Ciliaris is one of the more relaxed Strophurus species, so handling will not be a problem, but sometimes more nervous animals, can squirt some bad liquids out of there tails. Those smell bad and can hurt getting them into the eyes or so.

    UVB requirements, basking spot at 90 and ambient temps around 78-80 so basically a Leo just with uvb. Same diet requirement. Less handling because of the defense Mech

    I kept Strophurus williamsi for several years (they are a lot easier to come across) and they are super awesome little geckos. I handled them from time to time with no problems (just be gentle), and while they do have a defense mechanism that is somewhat like musking it isn't really that bad. Smells funky but it's such a small amount--just wash your hands a few times if it happens.
