    new red ear slider

hello, today i saved a red ear slider from being released into the wild. He's about 4 years old and i don't think he has been taken very good care of. It seems like he is almost shedding skin from his feet and legs, not his shell. It looks weird and i'm really new to turtles. Has anyone ever seen this? also, I was looking at turtle docks and they are so dang expensive for a few suction cups and a piece of styrofoam. What would be an alternative basking area that would be cheaper than $30+? thanks!

Chewy.com has a basking dock for 15 dollars and eBay has one for about 14 that I saw. Congratulations on your new friend, and preventing it from being dump in the wild where it would be scared and vulnerable . Best wishes to you always 😊
