    Shed Art...?

Sorry for the double post... I guess people are tired of hearing about thunder already and I got no love. Lol.

Anyways I just don’t want to mess up or ruin this as I think it’s something I’ll want to remember and have forever as I move through this hobby.

I got my first shed Friday and again it’s my first so I’m no expert but it was full solid and lovely.

Anyone do anything with their sheds? Preserve them in anyway? Anything crafty ?

    thanks

    Re: Shed Art...?

I always frame my first sheds! I have all my snakes first framed, and then I have a box I put the others in ☺ I think they're way too cool to throw away!

I just save the first one from each new snake. I put them in plastic takeout containers and label them. Other than that, they are thrown away. Although, I do have one from my King hanging on a curtain rod in my snake room. I put it there jokingly and it's still there.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m thinking a frame but if you have a coil intact shed draped about that’s kinda awesome lol! Did or do they dry out or get brittle??

I eat ‘em when I run out of pork rinds!

They have a bit of a Wang to them. Gotta add some salt.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

I did something really cool with my guy's shed but the shop I used looks to be temporarily closed. Bummer! https://www.etsy.com/shop/SnakeCharm...hopheader-name

However, she makes beautiful things. She will custom make a replica of your snake, coiled around a vile for keeping his shed. The charm can be used as a necklace or a key chain. I had mine made into a key chain as eventually my little guy will live in a PVC cage with locking doors, and I intend to keep his keys on this key chain.

Maybe you can hit her up on FB to see when she's reopening if you like her stuff. And Etsy is a great place for more shed keeping ideas, if you haven't checked it out already.

u can make these cute lil buttons (https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...shed-buttons-D) or stuff to frame (https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...Snake-Shed-Art). i like to give some of the nice ones to my lil sis to take to her class and she can give them out to her lil students.

They dry out, but don't get overly brittle. I could move it easily enough just being gentle.
