Re: New Male hypo albino 66% lab growth thread
I can see why they exploded in growth if you're feeding once every four days lol

I read that it's not very healthy though. Is that a myth?

I would try a weaned eat every 4 Days and then go up to two weaned rats after a few feedings ... and so on. Works great for me and they seem very content haha

It's 19:30 here in the UK so I'm about to feed her a rat and I'll check if she's cruising around after eating. Sorry for hijacking your thread btw lol.

The general concensus is that too frequent of feedings produce fatty deposits around the liver of the snake and reduce life expectancy. The sources Ive asked that breed Burms seem to be inconsistent with feeding info however.
Weekly feedings seem to be the most common interval at hatchling stage. If you recieved a new hatchling that was underfed by the breeder for maintenance purposes they recommend feeding every five days for a short amount of time to get some weight going.
My feeding plans:
Once a week until I hit large rat stage.
Large rats once every two weeks until I hit rabbit stage.
Rabbits 3 weeks.
..the breeders I run into that feed rabbits weekly all have MONSTER sized Burms (you're talking some with 130lb males within a few years). The healthiest animals Ive seen are fed rabbits once every three weeks....healthy builds, not overfed.
You've already got a Burm, and you know it's going to be a big snake regardless. Why try to rush the process? Ya know?
That's just my $0.02

She took them both down easily. She was still searching for food after the second one lol. Gonna feed two weaners for the next two weekly feeds then move up to the next size rat
