Re: Let's get this up & running again
Right on! Mine's an old Ibanez RG series but I swapped out the bridge position for a Jeff Beck Signature humbucker, switched the center to a single coil old school 50's strat (surf rock era strat) and then put in an old school 50 something humbucker in the neck. It's sort of a version of the old soapbar pickups.
basically it sounds amazing for jazz in the neck - good for surf and country in the middle and great for overdriven tube rock in the bridge.
anyway hopefully someday I can get a Gibson ES 335 I like to play jazz and rock.
oh I have a pretty nice Martin accoustic as well worked my butt off for it. I'll post pictures sometime soon!

Re: Let's get this up & running again
Hey I play guitar too.. at least sometimes I do. My dad is very good at it, and he's taught me some. He says I'm good.
I have a Gibson SG and a Gibson melody maker.. oh and a Fender Precision bass that I really would like to dig out again.

Re: Let's get this up & running again
The bridge of mine is a Seymour Duncan "Custom Custom" ... It's a 15k rating! killer for metal! And the neck is an old 70's Dimarzio Distortion. What kinda amp you got? I'm using a Yamaha DG-130 head, with a late 70's Marshall 4x12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30's. Alan Holdsworth, Chris Poland, Doyle Bramhall (I own the head he used on the Roger Waters tour) and Richie Kotzen use them. I've had countless praises for one of the best metal tones my friends have ever heard. Haha even the old school vintage guys at my work are totally in shock of the tone I get!

Re: Let's get this up & running again
I'm using a Fender Twin currently because of the versatility though rather than the lead channel I use an old Ibanez tube screamer to a MXR compressor to the amp. that MXR sounds great on country licks too though I don't really play those since I left nashville. I also love to toy with my new Line 6 delay modeler it's way too much fun. should probably be illegal. I'm hoping to get a marshall at some point. Your gear is killer! I'll have to consult you before I purchase any more guitar materials.

Re: Let's get this up & running again
What ya could do is get a JCM 800 or a JCM 2000 DSL ... Not the TSL. The TSL sucks. Too many knobs, too much stuff to get in the way of your signal. That's why Eddie Van Halen only had 1 knob! So here's what ya can do. Get a Marshall for a killer OD sound, and use your Fender for your clean sound, and get an A/B switch. That way you get that killer clean Fender tone, and click over to the killer Marshall tone. Also, if youre on a budget, Guild Starfires are the most underrate semi hollow bodies arround. You can get one for like 895.00 on up. As where a 335 will cost ya atleast 1700.00. All depends on originality of course.
