And they shouldn't have to work for it by chasing droplets around. I usually mist at night, but I really don't think it matters that much if you are offering a water dish.

Offer one type of food at a time. You don't need to give him multiple choices all at once--they don't eat enough in one day to need choices. I would stick with one flavor for a few weeks at a time and see how it goes. If he isn't eating much, try something else. You should be able to tell a difference in consumption if he has a preference. Some geckos eat all the flavors, some have favorites. But don't switch it up every day or you are going to complicate things and make a picky monster.
I bought the smallest size of different flavors to figure out what he may like. This one forum I'm on keeps making me nervous about doing things very particular and all the things that can go wrong. They talk a lot about the Geckos not eating well or taking a while to eat at all.

Well..little piglet just ate. LOL. I will stop offer so many things and stick with something. I would like if he eats a food that has some bugs in it. Finding crickets and such is not that easy around here, but I will try. He just ate the repashy with Grubs, which doesn't smell that good to me

Well, someone had himself a party last night..

Definitely found the bottom 2 food dishes, as evidenced by food smears all over the enclosure as well as a Gecko sleeping with his butt halfway in one of those food dishes.
A cleaning of the enclosure will have to be done at least by tomorrow !

I don't want to handle him much at all yet, but I will have to remove him to clean up the mess he made as well as get fresh food made and put into the enclosure. It will give give me a chance to check on that stuck shed as well as weigh him. I'll just weigh him in the deli cup, and then weigh the empty deli cup, less handling!

So far the name choices are:

    Loki (Loco Loki)
    Gizmo

and... I'm out of ideas! lol..

I might have to wait until I've had him for a while and can get some good looks as well as observe his personality..

    Welcome to gecko ownership! haha
Yeah no reason to offer 3 types of food at all once although that's super cute how worried you are. Spoiled little man, he's awesome looking!
I never had any issues with my 2 geckos eating right away. I offered them rhepashy and the occasional cricket (you'll probably hear mixed reviews on offering them bugs).
Breeder gave you good advise about the shed.

Well, I guess I'll have water in one of those food dishes.

This way he can also "rinse" his booty.

That's because they are beginners that don't have much experience in actually keeping multiple crested geckos. It's really not difficult at all. You have already seen that with your little one eating right away. And he even made a painting for you on the first night. Good job new crestie momma

And no problems in the poop department either. Between the finger painting, pooping and literally sitting in his food I ended up taking him out to put him in a deli cup with wet paper towel while I cleaned Mr. Messy's apartment.

He is quite calm. I didn't handle him other then to transport him but I did try to pick some stuck shed off of him after his humid stay in the deli cup. I just held one hand over the Cup and worked with the other. He actually handled that well, but it's really stuck and I only got a bit off. Just have to hope it will come off with the next shed. I don't want him to loose trust by picking on him.

He weighs 11 grams. So tiny

And here is the cutie, clean Butt and all

Put him in a deli cup with sopping wet paper towels on the bottom and let him soak for 30 minutes (make sure the cup is tall enough that he has room to keep his head up off of the wet paper towels). Then use a wet q-tip to swipe the stuck shed off. Sometimes you have to take them out of the deli cup and let them dry out for a few minutes before the shed will come off effectively. But one or two times doing that should get it off. I don't see any shed in that last photo of yours that needs immediate action though--stuck shed on toes and tails needs to be dealt with pretty quickly in growing geckos to avoid issues.

I will keep him in there longer next time, I just wish I didn't have to torture him like that that skin was stuck !! he let me tug on it a bit but I could see it pull up his good skin. Didn't want to tear anything. He was so good through it. Couple times he seemed irritated, but never got crazy or mad. But I didn't want to hurt him.

Its just around his upper arms, doesn't encircle the entire upper arm, more around the arm pit and a thin stripe going down the ribs.

Would that come off with the next shed ?

I will try again, though, but probably give him the day off tomorrow, he is such a chill and already somewhat trusting guy (not spazzy) I want to keep it that way, but if it needs to come off, I will work on it harder !
