    Maternal Incubation in tubs?

    i have a surprise clutch coming for the first time in almost 2 years i do not have an incubator not from lack of trying to find one but im running out of time here is my question can i Maternal Incubate in a tub with belly heat?

    I have seen people do it. The main issue is keeping the humidity up.

    I did it last year with both of my clutches. It wasn’t belly heat dual sided heat

    I would think that ambient heat would be better. I had a clutch of black racers hatch in my backyard. They were under some sheet metal that was left over from building my fence. Granted I live in Florida so humidity isn't an issue but they had no belly heat and just the radiant heat coming from the Sun hitting the metal

    even if u attempt to maternally incubate the eggs, u still need a backup plan. what if the momma BP decides not wrap and incubate the eggs anymore? what if an egg rolls away from the main clutch? getting a a backup incubator ready would be very helpful now and in the future.
