What is this?

Just found this in odyns tank. To me it looks to be an almost fully digested mouse. It's like a mummy. Completely dry, no smell and it wasn't there when I last checked him. His temps have not changed. He is due to eat today and I know he is hungry since he was in food mode Thursday.

the shape is alarming but i think it might just be a furry turd. you'd know a regurge as soon as the smell hits you. it's like nothing you've ever encountered, and that's how you know it's a regurge.

is there any other waste along with it?
EDIT: this might be super gross but...have you pulled it apart or tried to dissect it?

I agree with tttaylorrr, looks like a furry snake poop to me. Especially since there was no smell. One thing I don’t know, though, is why it is a furry snake poop? Maybe the temps weren’t hot enough to digest the mouse fully? What do your temps look like?

it's common in beep digestion to not fully break down all keratin (fur). i've seen furry poops before, but never one this furry!

This is what I just found in his hide on the cool side. The furry was in front of his warm hide. I did pull it apart Taylor and it's just fur with maybe a spine left? No smell, completely dry. Temps haven't changed at all. And he has never pooped out fur before.

hm...in my experience i've seen similar waste piles (with the exception of much less fur) and, while alarming, never resulted in any problems.
if you're positive on temps then i'm not sure there's much to worry about at this point. if you're truly worried you could contact a vet and send in for a fecal?

If you want to see what it does, feed hairless a couple times.

TBH i trust that your temps aren't the issue, but it never hurts to check.
