    Hello!

    Hello!

I've been lurking for some time and finally joined! I am currently not a ball python owner but in two months that will change! Reading and absorbing as much as I can - found a local vet who has a good reputation with reptiles and cannot wait until I get him!

Thank you all for being so informative, and I hope to be able to contribute (and learn) where I can!

No! I really have no preference, they are all adorable! We are just waiting on all our supplies to be delivered and until we can put it all together to make sure our temps/humidity are set before we pick a noodle!

    Re: Hello!

In 2 months you will be an expert snarent. I love seeing people that get husbandry perfect before getting a snake. This forum has some very knowledgeable members and I assure you that the advice you will receive will be extremely helpful to you and your python. Do you have your eye on anything in specific? We have alot of breeders here as well and they can definitely get you anything that your finances will allow

    So smart!

Awesome to hear from someone doing research and setting up a tank first! Not a typical newbie move!

You are going to do great!

We are all here to help with any questions that come up, either now, or later. This site is a great resource and there are threads already going on many topics.

However, you will probably have questions, especially after getting your BP, so don't be shy!

We are happy to help! Especially people who want what's best for their animal(s)!

Good luck finding a good BP and don't forget to post pictures and keep us in the loop after you get him/her.

Thanks guys! It's hard to wait but when dealing with the life of another being, I'd hate to rush!

We've been talking with an owner of a local reptile shop who has been super helpful in introducing us to all the morphs, I'm leaning towards a Banana!

    Re: Hello!

Be warned, they are addictive little buggers. You will end up with snakes everywhere!

    You are welcome.

    Bananas are beautiful.

They all are in their own way though. So you cannot go wrong.

If you have a chance to meet them first, see who you connect with.

Of course, all mine came from breeders and I didn’t meet until they arrived or I picked up at a show. I have since bonded with all of them. All were young too, so we grew together.

However. I asked a lot of questions, especially about temperament and eating behavior. Wanted all mine on F/T and calm and docile.

You are taking your time, so you can ask a lot of questions too!

Good luck picking a new addition!

    Re: Hello!

Absolutely! The shop we are going to has let us drop in every weekend to chat - he buys only from a reputable breeder and makes sure they eat at least 4 meals frozen/thawed, so we don't have to worry about live!

I've probably pestered them every weekend for the last month! Lol
