Yes, I’m very thankful I decided to post on the forum, and learned a lot! Tomorrow morning I will be doing almost everything people have suggested; covering sides of tank, thermostat, and identical hides. I’m pretty sure everything else is acceptable in my setup those are just the few last things I need

I only ask that you don't "one night stand" us. Keep posting updates and pictures. It's a great forum with great people in it. Your next step should be a "progression" thread so we all can watch you and your snake grow

I was honestly going to do that, I wasn’t sure if that was okay to do on this forum. I haven’t done much looking around on the forum. It was hard enough for me to figure out how to post a thread and pictures haha. But now that I do know how to, and know it’s okay; I will be posting plenty of updates. I work from home so I spend a lot of time with my animals, I also have several veiled and panther chameleons and I often use the chameleon forum. so not a complete amateur to reptiles. But expect plenty of updates on “Gus”,the snakes name

    New ball python. Thoughts

Good luck .... do your best making all the adjustments to the set up then leave it 7 to 10 days then try feeding again .. in the evening .. wait until he's in his hide and dangle the mouse /rat in front of the hide entrance- give it a ten second blast with a hairdryer first and offer INSTANTLY... if needs be simply repeat that method precisely until it's taken ..

Just now seeing your reply about what the breeder said he was eating. She told me he was eating medium rats, and actually gave me 5 rats when I bought snake. They are frozen. And every time I’ve tried to feed I have thawed in ziploc bag in cup of hot water so doesn’t get wet and loose smell, then to go even further I always make sure the rat is 98 degrees with my temp gun.
