Help identifying my new little beauty, please.
Years ago, when I was in the Marine Corps, I owned a couple red tail boas. They were normals. This is my first ball python. I’ve looked through WOBP and so many look similar to me it’s just becoming more confusing. It seems the older I get, the more my brain turns into an Etch-a-Sketch.
I know you will all probably cringe at this but I got her at Petco. I had been thinking about getting a snake for a while and saw her when i was getting some new bulbs for my Russian Tortoise. It was love at first sight and I couldn’t leave her in that place. She was listed as a Spinner, but she is really yellow and any Spinners or Spiders I’ve looked at, the headstamp looks different to me. I definitely see Pin in her, but I think there may be something else... The closest I’ve seen to what she looks like is a Spinner Mojave (screenshot of that snake from DR, posted below the actual photos of mine), but I will rely on the expert opinions here. She also has blue eyes (dark blue with hints of gray in some lighting). Her hatch date is 26June2017 and she has a very curious and outgoing personality.
My interest is not for breeding purposes. I’m just interested in giving her a loving home, but I’d like to know for my own personal knowledge. If you need any additional photos, please let me know. Thank you all in advance!

I'm terrible at spotting morphs. I just had to comment on this thread to say thank you for your services! I was raised by a Marine and I have nothing but respect for you

Also not a morph expert. Pretty snake though.
Let us us know if there is anything else you need help with and/or have questions on.
I have a BCI as well. BP’s are cool snakes too. Requirements are similar in terms of temps and humidity.
If if you can care for BCI’s, you will do fine with a BP.
Thank you for your service!

Thank you very much! Eventually I’d love to get a Blue Eyed Lucy and a Banana Enchi (and I’m sure that list will grow), but for now I’m just enjoying her. She is a sweetheart. The only thing I was nervous about was feeding frozen thawed. 18yrs ago when I had my red tails, I fed them live. But she took her first feeding like a champ.

I'm old school and have never tried the f/t route but I want to do a little breeding in the future and I'm either gonna have to make the change or start having to house large amounts of rats and mice

Thank you sir! Can you tell me what key markings helped you confirm she’s a spinner? The headstamp on her is different from all the other spinners I’ve seen. Like I said, I don’t understand it all yet, so maybe I’m focusing on the wrong thing. It will sink into my head eventually... like water in a stone. Haha

I’m not thinking of breeding. And I was going to keep it old school, but most places around here don’t sell live rats, so eventually I’d be stuck using f/t and I think it’s easier to switch them from f/t to live, rather than the other way around. So rather than create a problem for myself down the road, I kept her on the f/t. Also, don’t have to worry about her getting injured.
One time I got my female red tail a rat that was just a little too big, or too smart and it kept pushing her mouth away and jumping back when she struck. She got angry and stressed and I had to get the rat out of there and knock it in the head before it did any damage to her.

That’s funny. BP’s can be picky eaters. Awesome she ate F/T right away.
My BCI and corn snake will eat anything anytime!
I feed all my snakes F/T.
Don't be surprised if when she gets bigger she doesn’t eat every time.
My BP girl just fasted for 5 months. Started eating again 10 days ago.
She is 5 and has fasted each winter for 3 years now.
No no big deal. Just different the BCI’s who rarely refuse a meal.
Good luck!
