    Species Identification

Can someone identify what species of milk snake this is? It was sold as a Nelson's but photos I'm seeing of albino Nelson's look different.

Well I'm far from a expert. But looks like a albino Honduran to me.

Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

I googled albino Nelson’s milksnake and also albino Honduran milksnake.

I think it could be a Nelson’s but I am no expert.

I read the Hondurans get noticeably bigger. Is this a young snake or adult?

i think Hondurans are usually more chill, but I am going by recollection from 4 years ago when i was considering a milksnake or corn. I ended up with a corn. Also, different snakes have different temperaments. I wouldn’t go by that.

    Either way. Very pretty.

Yes, the yellow is there inside the white, but faded. I suppose it could be a hybrid too.

Yeah, google has lots of variation and some things I think could be mislabeled so I find it hard to trust. Not sure of age but it seems at least several years old based on its size. It has a good temperament and doesn't mind being held.

looks like a Albino Nelson's. it looks like it has a speckled snoot instead of an actual band/ring. also the rings go red, white, black, white and then red again. in case of an albino it would be red, white, yellow, white, then red again. the Hondo would have two rings of black (or yellow in the case of any albino) in it's set of rings.

    Re: Species Identification

Correct me if I am wrong, but husbandry is virtually identical for either species from what I read.

So at least you don't have to worry about providing the wrong environment.

Everything I found says about 80 ambient or lower (they can tolerate nighttime drops) and a hot spot 84-86 or so.

    Good luck and beautiful snake!
