Your setup looks great. I have a T10 on my list when I upgrade my boa.

    Congrats.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, for 42 years I've been terrified of snakes so it took a lot of begging and straight A's on his part. It's been great though, really been enjoying researching all of this with him and helping him with the setup. We spent a good hour plus last night just observing his snake and chatting about them. I'll take all the those little moments as often as I can!

Ah! C-Clamps! I may actually have some of those little nylon wire clamps already in my tool box! Excellent idea, thanks!

Awesome. That's the one I have on order as well.

Thanks for sharing. I assume one is the tstat probe and the other is the hygrometer?

Re: Leo’s new bachelor pad. Animal Plastics T10

Regarding temps, this is where we want to be, correct?

This is the surface temp of the hide that is positioned directly center of the RHP. Also to show that a heatpad/tape in *my* setup isn’t necessary. I get “belly heat” from the radiated heat from above. UTH was necessary in my prior glass setup but I’d argue that it would be very inefficient with nearly an inch of PVC and another inch of substrate. I won’t even get into the fire risks..

That said, there are so many different variables in play that everyone’s setup is so uniquely different. What works for me won’t necessarily work for someone in a different environment. Reminds me of my beer brewing days.

EDIT: Ah! Just saw the "that should produce the Max 91° you want on your Hot Side Hide." above. I'll lower it a bit more! Really appreciate all the advice and feedback, thanks!

No, I run two thermostats per cage. One as a backup to the main thermostat.

    Better safe than sorry.

Shoot for a 90-91 on the floor of your hotside. Anywhere the snake will crawl around - that includes the top of the hide. 94-95 is too hot.

    Got it! Thanks again everyone!

I suspect that’s how I came to the typo before, it wasn’t a typo I was mixing up air temperature and surface temperature and like a dummy setting for air temp. Understood now.

If its 12"x24" its the 88watt. If its smaller than that its the 65 watt square one.
If its 15"x24" its 150 watt.
