    From normal to???

    Good day fellow BP keepers

What do you think happen with the morphology of this one? Bought as normal, 3yrs of age. In good health and was mated to a mojave to see if it’s carrying other genes. After 4 sheds the yellow coloration intensified.

    thanks

Wow! That is a pretty significant change. Does it get lighter after each shed?

do you have photos of the “normal” in question, pics of the mate, and then pics of the hatchlings? That would be the best way to see if the “normal” has something else going on.

Could it have "old sheds" on it ?

It doesn't just look darker in the "normal" pic, but also very dull...

The "shed out, lighter" pictures look almost "desert or desert ghost" like..

I hope its not a Desert female that got bred...

The stripe along the back is still dark, though, and its not really clean enough for Desert or Desert Ghost.

    Definitely intriguing.

    Re: From normal to???

From 3rd to 4th shed it almost retain the intensity of the coloration. Also previous sheddings were normal, not the old sheds (thick sheddings).

Dont have the pic when it was still a hatchling. From hatchling to adult it just a normal looking ( in my opinion). Also cant remember the history of the parents as i bought this labeled as normal.

Aren't Normals exciting! My guess is that it may be a Pastel. You'll find out if half the babies are pastel. If it's recessive all the hatchlings will look much more 'normal' looking. I have a Normal that has a very interesting camo / khaki color to it. I've never seen anything like it before, I picked her up with a package deal. I'm breeding her with a single gene Coral Glow male, I don't want too many genes in the mix because I want to see if half of the babies have a different look to them. I'd also like to hold back one of the males and breed back to the female to see if I can get a super out of her, could be something new!
