    My beep won't poo

Hey all, I'm a little concerned about my Vega. She is very healthy these days. I saved her from a pet shop and have seen her flourish while being in my care. The other night I went on a date, came back 4 hrs later and she had shed most of her skin which I noticed maybe 3 days before, that she was about to shed. Fastest shed I've seen her have yet but now, it's been weeks since she's pooped. I cleaned her tank a week or so back and there's still no poop in there. I've read all over not to worry bc one day she'll unload and I'll be surprised. Before she went into shed I gave her a good soak, was able to get mostly pee outta her but I feel soooo many lumps of poo at the base of her butt, u know. She's eaten so many times since the last time she actually pooped and I'm worried if I keep feeding her she's gonna die, but I don't want to stop feeding her til she poops bc she jumps on her prey as soon as I drop em in. Any thoughts?

They don't go on schedule and unless you know for sure that there is a blockage there is no reason to give your snake a bath (blockage will translate as a persistant significant buldge near the vent)

How much does the snake weighs? What prey type and size do you feed.?

If the snake is underfed, it won’t go. If it is overfed, it will poo a Lot!

my growing snakes eat to grow, and poo a few times/month. My very large female eating just enough for maintenance rarely goes.

I don't know how much she weighs these days and I don't know how much her live rat pinkies weigh but they are big enough for her size. I'd say at her biggest, she's about an inch and a half or 2 in diameter. I mean, I have scales but she won't fit on them haha..

So it's normal for them to only poo a couple times a month?

She's getting out of being a juvenile if that helps.. she's only maybe 5 months old at most

Godzilla, we're neighbors. I live in mills river. Just never seen anyone on here that lives so close. Do you go to aquarium imports?

Considering she is underfed well yes it's normal, a 5 months old BP should not be eating pinkie rats.

Even out of the eggs I feed BP a rat crawler which is a rat with some slight fuzz on it. (about 3 to 4 days old)

Your BP has little to nothing to be eliminated as everything is used to maintain primary body functions.

Feed your BP the proper size prey and it will grow and defecate.

I feed her 2 at a time. Maybe I'm not using the right terminology but she's most definitely not under fed, please know that. I'd get a pic of her right now but since she ate 2 good sized babes the other night and still in shed I'm not gonna mess w her

And honestly I don't know how old she is. She was a little baby when I got her back in Oct '17 and has grown at least triple her size since then

That is a low residue diet. Much of the poo is made up of the prey animal's fur. No fur means a longer period between poos. And ball pythons are already known for going several weeks without a poo. One day she'll unload, and you'll be surprised.

By the way, I hope you took off the unshed part of the old skin.

You would do well to keep track of your snakes weight, so you know when to move up in prey size. A simple kitchen scale will work.
