Just got home and checked on Leopold... there is still a little wheezing going on.. no additional signs of RI.

I'll just have to keep a close eye on him

Few problem when it comes to I hear something is it normal?

First we don't hear what you hear and what you hear while you might think is a problem, someone like me might think it's normal, into that comes the animal itself as well and your knowledge of said animal.

Here is a little story that demonstrate that point year back I hatch a Black Pastel female that I kept and a friend with experience in BP came and held her once and heard a clicking/wheezing sound and insisted that animal had a RI.

I hatched the animal was familiar with her obviously and that animal always made that sound, unusual for a BP but considering it was a black pastel it is likely that the nasal cavity was deviated to a level causing the strange noise.

So again it's tough mucus and bubble do not always manifest themselves in the early stage, you may have miss a piece of stuck shed in the nostril, it could be a nasal issue that you have not noticed until now, not knowing what it normal for your snake and what you perceive as normal I will say keep an eye on it see if it gets worse, and if in doubt have your animal examined by someone knowledgeable.

Re: Wheezing...not in shed...no URI symptoms?

Thank you for the advice! I'll bring him to my herp vet if he has any additional symptoms.. he is new (I've only had him for two weeks) and I just started handling him, so perhaps this is totally normal for him or will go away with the next shed cycle

He went blue today and no additional symptoms (except that he didn't eat..most like because he's blue)... looking good over here!

Re: Wheezing...not in shed...no URI symptoms?

Just a quick update - after Leopold's (assisted) shed, the whistling/wheezing noise he was making has completely subsided

He also arrived with the slightest bit of scale damage which was also completely gone with the shed. Success!
