Wheezing...not in shed...no URI symptoms?
My male banana is making a whistling or wheezing sound every so often.. some noises are louder than others and it is not consistent. He is not currently in shed and isn't exhibiting any signs of a URI (very active, eating eagerly and regularly, no mucus or saliva near the nose or mouth, doesn't open his mouth like a "yawn").
His hot side is 89, hot spot is 90, cool side is 78, I use cypress mulch for substrate and it's totally clean (since he poops in his water dish or ON MY BED!)
He is currently cruising around my bed happy as can be and i have checked his mouth and nose several times...I did see a small fiber or hair coming out of his mouth (probably from my clothes, or he likes to rub his face in my actual hair).
Could there be something benign in his nose, should I take him to a vet immediately?
I know this isn't a normal sound beeps make but he seems 100% healthy otherwise..

Update: absolutely no bubbles inside either side of lips and I did notice the tiniest piece of stuck shed on his head... although I know he hasn't shed for me.
Here is a close up of his nose

One of mine has had a Click for 1.5 years. Drove me nuts all last winter and still (Today) i'll say to someone thats with me when I have her out "did you hear that" hahahaha. My wife doesn't even answer me anymore lol. Mine does it when her tongue comes out, its just the way she is.. Since you mention a piece of stuck shed my first guess would be a tiny piece in the nasal cavity or the shape of the cavity itself. Some snakes make noises because of this. Keep a eye on it. If no symptoms I would not be overly concerned.

Okay.. that's what I'm really leaning towards. I must have checked his mouth four or five times and not a single bubble... he doesn't raise his head up to breathe, etc. I'll check again after he sheds to see if it persists

Yeah I wouldn't bother him to much at this point. Im sure he doesn't like his mouth being opened lol. Watch for bubbles on his mouth, nose or on the glass.

Re: Wheezing...not in shed...no URI symptoms?
He looked fine this morning, although I didn't take him out to check for bubbles/listen to his breathing. He was poking out of his hide, but his head wasn't lifted and he didn't look like he was having trouble breathing at all. I'll take him out when I get home today to see how he's doing. Are there any symptoms I am missing? I check for:
- mucous/saliva in and around the nose and mouth area
- bubbles in the mouth/nose area
- lifting his head to breath/opening his mouth to breathe
- wheezing noises (which he does make, although not consistently and only when he exhales)
- lethargy (which he is not)
- feeding (he is feeding fine, didn't refuse last week and wagged his tail at my mouse cage last night - he even struck at it even though it was empty)
- husbandry (I mentioned in my OP, I think he is all set)
The only thing he is exhibiting is the wheezing/whistling noise.
I am concerned as well because I have another snake coming in this week and while she won't be in the same room, I still want to make sure everything is A-OK with Leopold
