What bedding are you using for your retics???

Been using Kraft paper and I find it to be cheap but doesn't absorb urine or reduce the smell... I'm having to change it every other day or so....

BF and his dad use kraft or unprinted newsprint for their retics and yes, you have to change it out constantly

I use Uline Indented Kraft paper and love it. Why do you have to keep changing it so often. Snakes don't pee or poop that often. I only have to change mine when they mess.

My corn snake and hondos are kept on Reptile Prime so they can burrow.

I think it's a combination of pee and water from the water bowl getting onto the paper not to mention they destroy the paper they crinkle it up tear it up I've just become frustrated with it that's why I'm looking at alternatives

I haven’t obtained my snake yet but have been recommended by and purchased repchip for him.

Granted im keeping a one snake display so this may not be ideal for a breeder or someone with multiple tanks in a rack system.

Ive been told it helps the humidity a lot and they love it... I’ll see in a few weeks !

Re: What bedding are you using for your retics???

I must just be lucky then because none of mine mess up their paper. I do have hides on each end along with a water bowl and spaghum moss bowl to hold it in place. But crumpling the paper has never been an issue.

Have your checked in the new bedding called Reptile Prime. I like it. Google it and see what you think. Brian from BHB is the maker/owner/spokesperson of this bedding. Depending on how many and how large of cages you have it could get sorta pricey though.

I only use it in tubs right now.

Retics pee like a freaking horse, and about every day starting a few days after a meal. I had to clean my ultra Ivory's enclosure 3 times the other day. I personally use either aspen for the smaller snakes or pro coco chips for my bigger retic.
