If you have a 4 foot cage, get a 80 watt RHP. Both Pro products and RBI are identical in how they operate, how long they will last, and how safe they are. Bob from pro products will ask questions about your setup and house to determine the size. He has a ton of size options. RBI has preset sizes and as one who has one in the 4 foot cage I have, the 80 watt is perfect.

If you do not want all the fancy visual LCD and safety rely bells and whistles, get he herpstat EZ line. It offers the same proportional heating just without a LCD screen to display the temp.

The RHPs are the simplest things to install. A few screws and you are all set. RBI RHPs come with a snap in plug so you can run the power cord through a hole and I beleive Pro products are the same. Put the cord toward the back, the RHP facing the right direction and don't install it directly against the wall. That's it. If you can screw in a screw into a wall, you can put in a RHP.

AP website doesn't have the RHP for sale. I'm so confused by all that stuff.
I bought the UTH for it. 11x22 for those that are wondering exact size lol. Well I got the ultratherm with is 11x23.
What temp is your house at Night during Winter?
That helps decide and thats why Bob doesn't list eveything. He custom makes them for the size enclosure too. He is making a small sized 50 watt now for a 36"x12"x12" enclosure. He will ask you a list of questions and then tell you what one you need, the cost, and total shipped. A 88 watt which is bigger than you need for a T10 is $130 shipped.
I myself only use Pro Panels.

I originally ordered a T10 and he recommended the 65w. I then upgraded my order to the T12. I called him and he said that the 65w should be fine with that one as well. Rainbow boas don't require real high heat though.

    Youll be sorry with 65watts.
My P13 (88 watt) in my T12's were fine when the house was 68+ but at night when the house goes to 62-65 the cool side dropped to 73. A 65 watt wouldn't do anything in a T12 unless you heat the snake room for ambient to 70. He sold 88 watts for T10's last week.. Better call him back. For a extra $20 get the 88watt. You wont be sorry.
I have Central Air in the summer and heat goes down at night during the winter so he had me trade him back for the larger ones.

My ambient doesn't get below about 68 at most.

Yeah so then if you go with a 65 watt it isn't going to keep up.. Mine is a 88watt and those are my temps. 65 watts are for T8's mostly. Those have a 11" interior hight.. A 23" interior hight is totally different. I even have 1/2" Foam Insulation board under the enclosures so the stand doesn't draw out the heat and some over the tops. Its not a big deal Bob swops everyone if you need a bigger panel but once you drill holes and swop if you need to then you have to drill more holes because they don't lineup.

Re: Rhp size and from who?

I agree, go with an 80 watt panel, especially in a 4ft cage. They are not difficult to install yourself, but you must drill a small hole (like 1/4 inch) for the power cord, and you want to drill it after you install the panel so you know where to drill the hole. You don't want too much cord inside the cage - snakes seem to get wrapped in it easily. RBI or ProProducts, either works well.

You want a proportional thermostat. Any brand/model that does proportional control is good. Vivarium Products, Herpstat, Helix, whatever. I have the Herpstat Intro with steel probe from the Bean Farm, very good unit for $100. Set it and forget it.

Drill another hole in your cage for the probe, you want the tip down just above the floor under the heater, or wherever you want the temperature sensed. Better to drill the hole high up and let the probe hang down - more flexibility in placement that way.
