a 75W CHE will use the same amount of electricity as a 75W bulb; both pull 75W of electricity. however i think the IR bulb produces more heat than a CHE of the same W.
when i used a glass enclosure for beeps i had a 20gal and used a 100W CHE. i had to barely turn my rheostat up in order to get the correct temps. i think a 75W CHE will work just fine.

In a 10 gal a 60 watt CHE produced 76-80 with screen covered with Tin Foil & a hand towel.. In a 20gal a 100 watt produced 80-84 on the Hot Side with tin Foil and no Towel. Id say a 75 is good for just cool side ambient purposes since a UTH is available in the Hot Hide.

I went for the 100W because I have a thick layer of mulch for my substrate (combating humidity here) and it is actually perfect. My cool side didn't quite reach 77/78 so I added a small IR light on the cool side and it is working perfectly.
Thank you!

Good. Once warmer weather comes (60's) keep a eye on it. Whenever my house warms up the enclosures need adjusting. I could never understand that seeing how i run thermostats but it must have to do with the lack of chill after winter temps from the walls and floors even though interior ambients are the same.

Yeah and I think its because a Tstat set at 92 might keep a enclosure 90 during winter but in the spring its easier to heat the enclosure so the Tstat set to 90 gets the enclosure 90. Then when Summer is here the AC kicks on for the house to 65.. So i have to raise the Tstat like its set for winter again haahahaha
