    Seasonal Behavior?

All three of my ball pythons have stopped feeding within the last two and a half weeks and I was wondering if this could be a seasonal behavior? All three are normally great eaters and have never refused any offered meal before. The fact that all three have stopped eating at roughly the same time makes me curious.

I live in Arizona and I was wondering if anyone else in the area, or in southwest U.S. is experiencing anything similar?

My Male takes 8-10 weeks off... Females are more common but with cooler temps any of them can go off feed for 2-3 months. I do notice people that feed less don't seem to have this problem as much as those that feed every week. Some people that feed every 3 weeks have less/no snakes going off...

My adults turn off around every January, I have only ever kept males. I’ll be lucky if they take a few over the next 4 months, and they don’t usually lose much either. Come summer they go back to eating great.

Thank you for your input, CALM. This eases my mind quite a bit.

After reading your response and CALM's reply, I feel much better. It seems this is something I can expect every year. I got my first snake back in March of 2017 and my other two in May. This is my first winter with them and I'm still learning. Thanks for your time.

Two of mine went off and my picky eater became a pig! The male that went off feed just ate again and the other female is showing more interest. Seems to be fairly common. Just keep up on the temps and keep fresh water available.

    Re: Seasonal Behavior?

I live in AZ. My kiddos BP stopped eating between Thanksgiving and Christmas. He/she is still on a food strike. BP gets into strike position, has even bopped the mouse with his/her nose, but no striking. Husbandry is stable, and he isn’t looking dehydrated or losing weight. I figure he/she will eat eventually.

Sounds like we're going through the same thing. Thanks, copper.
