Re: And so it begins
This makes me even more excited for my upcoming pairing. My breeders have just a few more weeks in brumation then it's just a waiting game for her to shed so I can pair them.
I'm assuming you're placing him in her tub instead of the female going to the smaller tub?

Correct I always move males regarless of the species in the female tub, plus V18 would be tight for her (got a weight yesterday she is 630 grams )
I can't wait to see what you are hatching first time of any species is always so exciting.

Holy hognose and I thought my 1st time female was getting big. She just looks it compared to yours. I'm definitely excited. Nervous but more excited than anything. Just need to get the male eating after brumation so he can put just a little more weight on. He was just a few grams under 60 before the cool down but he's still got time. I just need to order the supplies now.

Have you paired any 1st time males that are slightly under 60g? We're pushing to 50g and waiting on my female to go through her ovulation shed so there's still time but the boy is taunting me with not eating. Going through the scenting rounds now.

The smaller male I have paired was 55 grams but of course he was eating well.
This little guy above eats but will only take live right now (used to be on f/t), obviously because he is small and breeding I want him to eat regardless of what he eats and since I breed feeder it does not really matter.
I also have another conda male at 150 grams that stopped eating and while he is breeding as well, I am not concern about him not eating.
