    Made Some Snake Hooks

With all my snakes chilled down right now, I have been staying busy making stuff. I made some full sized (36 in.) snake hooks from wooden shafts with leather grips. Wood for a snake hook shaft isn't the stongest, but it works great if you are only handling snake (not prying stuff up with it in the field). I also made two small snake hooks for tending to the small nippy snakes. I carved and painted wooden snake heads for the handles and think they came out pretty cool. Just thought I would share. Fun (and reasonable cost wise) projects if you are bored and looking for something to do.

Cool. Those look really nice and certainly sturdy enough for how we use them...
