Re: My bp Chloe and possible new bp

I think pet stores are a double edge sword. Ours came from a pet store and he’s great. Do you guys really think ten or fifteen people on this forum not buying from a big box store will affect the outcome of them selling reptiles at all? If anything I’d love to see one of u guys saving a sick snake then some young kid buying it and it just dying. I see where you are all coming from but I say if u want it and you think you are doing the right thing by the animal, then go for it. Buy him and give him the home he needs you can’t save them all but you can change ones life for the better

Thats only part of the problem.. Most are not bred well, taken care of and harbor illness & disease. But I'm not here to debate. I know this after having snakes for 29 years so I try to pass on the insight to help new herpers. Take it or leave it

yes, i do think 10 or 15 people making a conscious decision with their money will have an impact, because even with those 15 people here, there's 300+ other guests reading this info and forming their own opinion. it's important we never stop telling that truth.

there's plenty of examples of people rescuing horribly sick/hurt animals on the forum, with the outcome usually resulting in the animal dying. i myself rescued a severely underfed corn snake, who is doing great; i knew the risk but i got lucky. this is why people don't want to rescue sick animals, and don't regularly do it: why put yourself through the pain and loss? it's heartbreaking.

and you're right; you CAN'T save them all, which is why those 10-15 people make a difference, as they save the next snake that's supposed to replace the one in the window.

EDIT: i hope you don't take this as a negative criticism towards you in any way, as that was not my intention. i just wanted to express my opinions against your own. have a great day.
