    Pairing Advice

    Hi Everyone,

I have a female Lipstick Line Junglow and would like to get a male to hopefully breed her with years down the road. She is a 2020 and I'm going to have my eye out for a 2021 male this year.

I still have more research to do around breeding boas and want to ensure I select a male that will not cause any issues with the potential offspring, IE: I've read that breeding albino to albino boas can make the babies much more prone to some deformities, missing eyes, etc., and my goal would be to intentionally steer away from a male morph, which could be more prone to causing this if bred with her.

After playing with the morph calculator, I really liked all of the possibilities of breeding her with a hypo jungle, 100% het kahl albino male, especially because of the different super possibilities. The hypo jungles are also just gorgeous to me, so would love to have one as a pet. However, I saw there were folks advising on one site, that some super jungle morphs don't fair well but they didn't put much more context around it. I tried finding similar statements or opinions on other online sources but couldn't, so figured I would check with you all here.

So my overall question is, in your experience would it be advisable to breed her with a male hypo jungle, 100% het kahl albino and if not, what morph would you recommend in order to still produce some visual albino offspring? Also, the breeder said she is a possible super hypo lipstick junglow, incase that changes anything. Her parents were super hypo lipstick sunglow x jungle het lipstick albino.

Thanks in advance for your time and input,
    Anthony

Super jungles can be a problem same as super. Motley boas
You could use a motley het albino which is also co dominant like jungle .
    So you could get
    Albinos
    Albino motley
    Albino jungles
    Albino motley jungles
    Sunglow jungles
    Sunglow motleys
    Sunglow motley jungles
    Jungles
    Hypo jungles
    Motleys
    Hypo motley
    Motley jungles
    Hypos
    Hypo motley jungles
So quite a good range of boas
    From one litter
    Hope this helps a bit
If she is super all the babies would be hypo
    So all would either be
    sunglow
    Sunglow jungle
    Sunglow motley
    Sunglow jungle motley
    hypo,
hypo jungle, hypo motley, hypo jungle motley

Thank you, this is very helpful! That really is such a nice range of possibilities just from one litter, so I'm definitely going to look into the motely het albinos.

    Hi Richard,

I wanted to ask if you're aware of any issues with super hypos or hypo to hypo breeding? For instance, if I were to breed my female junglow to a male super hypo arabesque het kahl albino, would you see any potential issues?
In using the genetics calculator, I really liked the different possible morphs.

    Thank you,
    Anthony

As far as I'm aware there doesn't seem to be any problems
