Hey! Sorry this thread is so long, but I wanted to share that she's been eating amazingly Everything has been growing great with her! She is now 98g, which is awesome! Still tiinnnyyy lol, but it's good to know she's growing Got her at only 61g! I got a question (obviously haha), my friends' leopard gecko got a tank upgrade, and she wanted to know if I wanted the old 20 gallon long! I said sure, and I'm wondering if it'd be okay to put Roe in there for a while? Again,
T E M P O R A R Y! I'm actually worried she might be too small for it. She's (roughly) only a little over a foot, so I'm worried the big 20gal long may be a bit too big? I've heard people say two things:
"No tank is too big if you provide enough hiding spots and coverage!"
"Some tanks are just too big, and stress the snake out."
Though, nature has no limits! I'm sure I'd be able to provide enough coverage so I think it'd be okay? I want to hear your opinions though. Ha, the only problem is finding room for it

    Anyways, thanks for reading!
and sorry the thread is so long 0-0

If your snake just started eating regularly, the worst thing you can do is change the cage right now. If the snake can fully stretch out in the old cage, then you are plenty good. Personally i would just save up cash and order a an Animal Plastics T10 with a shelf, lock and LED and call it good for the next 4 years or so. Then upgrade it to a T25.

Yay! Glad to hear she ate!

As Sauzo mentioned, I would not change enclosures with her just now starting to eat. Once she settles in, and eats for a few months, then I might consider giving her an upgrade.

A 20 gallon isn't very big, even for such a small boa. 20 gallons is the smallest tank size I normally see advised for baby boas, and they will outgrow it quickly.

Big, open enclosures will stress them out, but offer plenty of cover and clutter, and you can put them in as big of an enclosure as you wish. You may just have a hard time finding the snake, and then having to clean out the enclosure may be more of a pain. lol

Do yourself and favor and put aside more savings and just upgrade to a PVC cage when the time comes. Something like an Animal Plastics T10. That will last your boa years and they are cheaper than a comparable sized glass tank.
