Stuck Shed or Scale Rot, or Other?

I recently got a new ball python. The people said she had some stuck shed on her head, and upon bringing her home, I rubbed some warm water above the area. She didn’t strike but she squirmed a little. Some skin got off, but the remainder doesn’t look like shed. Can anyone help? Plus, can anyone help what morph she is? I have attached a video of pictures. Can anyone recommend a good herp vet in the Los Angeles area?

Re: Stuck Shed or Scale Rot, or Other?

    Hello there!

So first off, your baby looks a lot like a hypo pastel from what I see of her.

And second, I don't think that this is scale rot. From what I know, scale rot is something you find most often on the belly of a snake in overly moist conditions. If you see your snake has a red belly, then you may have scale rot.

But if not, I expect that your bp just has a head injury or scar. Perhaps it was a little birth defect. And due to the scar/defect, shed sticks to it easier. That's my idea at least.

    Best of luck

Welcome to the forum! You've found a great community and a great place to learn.

I'm miles and miles away from a morph expert, but I personally see a beautiful normal. Wht was the animal purchased As?

As for the head, it looks to me like a minor injury that will most likely fix itself over the course of a few sheds. However, it's tough to tell from the pics. I would feel safe saying it's not scale rot though.
