Here's Marvin the day before a shed. Looking good and growing fast.

I caught Marvin tonight starting a shed. I’ve never seen one shed before my eyes! Super cool!

Re: My retic progression thread (Marvin)

Haven’t done an update in a long time and this will the the final one for this thread. Last night I got home at about 2:00 am from working late. Decided to give my snakes a little attention and interaction before I went to bed. This morning I woke up and found my retic Marvin dead. No warning, no signs before hand, just suddenly gone. He always was a strong feeder, always had perfect heat and humidity due to good gauges and a good thermostat. He will be missed

    My retic progression thread (Marvin)

So very sorry to hear your news ... just wondering have you been experiencing a heat wave and freakishly high temps in your parts like many parts of the world have ??

That gadget shown below is that one of those dual purpose ( temp & humidity ) ones ?

I can't see what the readings are but is that what you've been using to check temps and humidity ?

No weird temp stuff happening here. He hasn’t been in that tank for a good 5 months now. I moved and he’s been living in a large rack. That gauge doesn’t fit in the rack so I stopped using it. Plus you guys said it was bad in another thread.

But yeah, that pic is a dual humidity and temp one.

That's fine ..... I was just going to mention that those stand alone ones aren't much use for getting accurate surface temps and are only giving ambient air temps ..

I've seen so many reports recently of people having snakes pass away overnight and the common thing was simple overheating due to crazily high temps from freaky weather ..
