Can someone help me determine the age of my BP?

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to keeping BP's and I recently bought one from the pet store. I have him/her (I don't know the gender) now for +/- 6 weeks and in the beginning I only fed one mouse every 7 days, but he/she seemed really hungry as the feeding response was really strong. So I decided to try a rat 5 days after the last mouse and also the rat that seemed pretty large was caught within a few seconds. So the snake swallowing that whole rat got me thinking about what age the BP must be, because in the store they acted as if the snake was not even 1 yr old, but later I called them to ask again and then they said "if you bought one of the "bigger" one's than he/she probably is around 2-3 yrs old" (and I bought one of the bigger one's, however I don't know whether there were bigger one's before I bought mine). So imagine how confused I am right now.

So if someone can please help me to determine the approximate age that would be great. The BP is 80 cm (i'm from Europe) and weighs 590 gram.
I also included pictures to make things more clear. I would also appreciate it if someone could tell me whether it's a male or female.

    Thanks a lot!

There is no way to tell your snake could be 6 months lime it could be 2 years.

Depends on how the animal was fed (prey size, feeding frequency, fast etc)

You were right that one mouse weekly is way too little. At 590g, it can easily be eating small rats (50g~80g) every 7~10 days or so.

Unfortunately, there's no way to tell the gender from appearance. Someone who knows what they are doing would need to sex/probe the snake.

The age also can't be told from appearance. If a snake was underfed, it will stay small, even if it were older. A young snake properly fed will grow bigger more quickly. The size just depends on how well they eat.

    Also congrats!

I know that in the store it was fed 1 mouse every Saturday, but I don't know for how long the BP was in the store, so still no answers then I suppose.

I know it would be a big coincidence, but the story fits... In which city was this pet shop where you got this bp?
Maybe I know the age and sex.

They are like trees, if you cut them in half and count the rings, you will know how many winters they’ve been through.
KIDDING! JUST JOKING, CALM DOWN PEOPLE!
like the others said, it’s impossible to tell age by size or size by age.

    Pretty snake!

A hatchling would be approximately 45 cm, so an age of 2-3 years could fit. Could be older though.

From the thickness of the tail, I think you have a male. Hard to say for sure, but I have at least a 50% probability of being right.
