    Sunlight

This may be a stupid question, but reading a few posts here, I see that UVB lighting is very important for Beardie good health.

Could sunlight be used instead of UVB lighting.
Could a Beardie being exposed to sunlight for 2 or 3 hours a day, negate the need for UVB Lighting.

For instance, an outdoor enclosure, where the Beardie can sit in direct sunlight if it wants to.
Like a said, maybe a stupid question.

Where do you live? Beardies need a hotspot of about 100F to bask underneath heat and UVB light, year-round. And the UVB that the sun is producing is variable depending on how cloudy/rainy it is that day. I would play it safe and just get a fluorescent UVB tube or an MVB to supply a good steady amount of UVB.

    Re: Sunlight

    Thank You for the reply.

I live in South Africa, and the average winter temp. is 80f, with the average Summer temp. being 90f.

She is in the sun for about 4 hours every day, and moves into shade when she is hot.
