Question: What is IBD?
I've looked it up but still don't quite understand it. I've seen it thrown around a couple of times in the forums and I'd like to know what it is, being that I've never heard of it before. Forgive me if this question seems dumb, but would anybody be willing to explain it to me/direct me to where I can read about it? It seems like a disease I should know about. The only thing I know is that it stands for "Inclusion Body Disease". Oh, and also, how does a snake contract it and what are the symptoms?
Thanks!

This somewhat of a good article, sadly IBD is thrown around way to often by new owners who like to self diagnose their animals.
The truth is IBD is very rare

IBD is a viral, incurable, highly contagious disease that affects boids (boas and pythons). Pythons usually succumb within a few weeks, boas can be carriers for months or even years.
Strict quarantine whenever you bring in a new animal is the best way to prevent animals in your established collection from picking it up.

Also to add, IBD is a blood transferred virus. So it is transferred via mites which is why you really want to quarantine and treat for mites even if the snakes dont have mites.

Thank you for all the replies guys! I'll read the article and look into it further but I have a better idea of what it is now.
