Unhappy Just me, or something wrong here?!?!

I was just crusin' an auction site and came across this...
"This is a 2.5-3 foot proven female ball.
this snake will make an excellent breeder but not a good pet, this snake is is calm, but bites. She laid 4 eggs last time all of which were fertile. She eats every 5 days like clockwork."

Maybe I am showing my ignorance, but is there any way a 3 foot ball python is grown enough to safely lay eggs? Just seems to be quite a bit of contradiction in there.

Certainly weight would be a better indication of whether or not a female is ready to breed.

I know that, but mine are right around 4 feet long, and just over 1100 grams. No where near the 1500 they should be to breed. And believe me, they aint skinny!

Re: Just me, or something wrong here?!?!

I bet that they are just BS'ing, and trying to make people bite onto their ad when they see that she is a proven breeder. I have a hard time that a BP that size, could produce viable eggs; hopefully I will be proven wrong

Re: Just me, or something wrong here?!?!

The whole calm but bites thing strikes me as awfully odd as well. Hissy has only bitten me twice (within the span of a couple days) and i know she sure as heck wasn't calm when she did it! She was stressed, which is the only reason a BP does bite a person.

So in short, the whole dang thing seems like a huge truck load of BS!

Generally, I think people are really bad at "guesstimating" a snakes length ... that said, a female that is close to or a little over 3 feet could possibly lay 4 small eggs.

i think there telling you all kinds of lies just to sell it. the calm but bites gets me too, im thinkin these people bought not knowing what they were doin and never took good care of it and now are tryin to get rid of it. and i know a 2.5-3 foot BP cannot breed and have 4 fertile eggs.

How do you "know"? What specifically is your background and experience breeding ball pythons?

    Thanks.
