    BHP Introductions

These two met face to face for the first time about 2 weeks ago. The male was cautious at first(smart lad) but he's starting to gain confidence and actually getting some pretty good looking locks. It's my first year attempting to breed these so I'm just playing it by ear and taking notes.

Confusion in the heat of the moment leads to male trying to lock his own neck. I don't know if the female was encouraging him or just curious but I thought it was a fun picture to share, haha. Despite this little hiccup, they've been getting good locks for the 24 hours I leave them together each week. The male is obviously very eager and the female is amiable enough. She'll scent the enclosure up a bit at the start of each introduction then just hang out and let the male do all the heavy lifting.
