Kaiya’s Progression Thread

Now that I’ve got my girl Kaiya all settled in and feeding right, I feel like it’s the perfect time to get her progression thread started up. So here she is now at 3 feet & 387 grams. This upcoming Sunday she has her second feeding with small rats, so looking forward to seeing some positive growth in the future! Still waiting on that first shed though..

Looks good. Just make sure not to handle her too much until she has eaten at least 3-4 meals easily and stuff. After that, you should be golden.

Yep that’s the plan. This upcoming weekend will make number 3. She seems to be moving along quite well. Doesn’t strike at me when I’m cleaning her tub but knows exactly when it’s feeding time. Has been such a joy having her.

Lol lucky you. My boas always think its feeding time haha. Until i slide open a door and they dont smell a mouse. Then they lay down and look all disappointed.

I’ve been working with her a lot using the hook/tap method. Not so much when I hold her (since those times have been few and far between), but even when I’m just cleaning. It’s been working really well so far! Hopefully it keeps up haha

I decided to go back to a substrate that would allow Kaiya to burrow again like she could in her old setup. So out with the paper towels and in with the aspen. Next step will be getting some nicer hides made from plastic so I can clean them when she decides to try and ruin one of them lol.

Not really sure if Kaiya knew I needed her to move so I could put the bedding in, but she chose this as her hang out spot through the entire process . Crazy girl...
