Pick only ONE artist and ONE song? This is hard. I listen to a very good, very small, run-by-donations local music station called KWSS out of Phoenix, AZ. They feature local musicians (some of whom have made it big like Kongos and The Black Moods), some who are now touring with bands (Taylor Upsahl), and some mainstream popular music, some 80's and 90's classics too. All styles and varieties. (You can stream it on itunes, BTW if you are curious)

This young artist is Haley Green. I've followed her for about 3 years, when I started dating my partner who is into the local music scene. Her first band was Ruca, and they broke up and she went solo for awhile. Now she's part of a group called Scattered Melodies, which is made up of musicians from other local bands. She also will step in and sing for other bands sometimes. She is still mostly solo and has gigs all around town -- she's a starving musician but she manages to hang on just barely and make the bills with all the small gigs. She's also a very very good person.

She's going to be appearing (as she does every year-- but this year as a solo artist) at Apache Lake Music Festival along with some bigger names. I feel so proud of her!

Her voice is amazing, and she's the real deal. We are honored that she is going to play at our wedding in January!

Without further ado, here is Haley Green, and I like this video because it features our city. :-)
