I just purchased this guy. He is a leopard mojave (pos fire) bee. His contrast looks great right know. However, he is only 76G. Im not sure if he will hold his colors, or if he will brown out like some other bees.

That is a GORGEOUS gorgeous animal. You certainly lucked out with that one. Doesn't get more yellow/black then that, and love the balance and contrast between the two colors as well as the clean-ness.

I agree it is an absolutely gorgeous animal, unfortunately I’m not confident it will have the genetics to stay bright yellow into adulthood. Don’t get me wrong, it will still make a beautiful adult but instead of this bright yellow that it has now, I believe it will get the brown top just like bumble bees get. I would love to see a follow up pic as an adult though because other than DG, I’m not positive which combos do have the potential to stay yellow, I’m still learning. I just don’t see what morph in this particular combo would help it retain the bright yellow.

Even if the yellow fades or browns out, what helps this animal retain its beauty is that the pattern is very "pronounced". So there will always be a clear contrast. Hopefully it will also stay so nice and clean looking.
If "Fire" is present (pos), I think that would help with color, right?

From what I’ve seen, Fire will help keep the color from darkening like some do but it does not seem to help with retaining color as much as I’d like. For example if you compared a pastel vs a fire pastel (firefly), the pastel may get dark brown with age where as the firefly may loose the bright yellow color, they still typically stay bright but not so yellow. So for the animal we are talking about, if it does have the fire, it probably wouldn’t turn brown but maybe more of a light tan color.

I know bumble bees brow out typically. I do not have enough experience with the other genes in him to really know what will happen with him. Its kind of funny tho, when I bought him I was in the market for a dark snake because I currently have a BEL and banana pastave. So I didn't even want a bright snake. However, I could not turn down this guys contrast. I hope he keeps his yellow color, but if he doesn't, then I will still be happy with a darker snake lol. He also has a lot of potential if I decide to breed him in the future. As long as this forum is around and doesnt die off, then I will post progress pictures of him here:

It helps that this is my favorite morph but still, I love him! Very nice and clean example, beautiful!
