Kink tail breeding
Hey all!
My partner and I are slowly starting up our breeding business, and by slowly I mean raising a few jouvies so that in the future we can have fat healthy babies!
We currently have two adults, one normal female, and a mojave male. He has a beautiful coloration and silver eyes, but has a kink tail. We don't know if it happened in incubation, or later in his early months, since he's a rescue and we don't know his history prior to six months of age.
We would love to breed him. He's a beautiful boy and has the best temperament I've ever experienced. Sheds well, no problem defecating, eats like a champ. But from what little research I've done, I've seen conflicting stories about breeding snakes with kinks.
I know he might not be able to lock with a female, or have difficulty doing so, but aside from that, what are general opinions on the safety of breeding him? For both him and any possible young.
Thanks!!

There are so many perfect Mohave males on the market that I would not breed one with a kink.

Re: Kink tail breeding
It's not so much that we're looking to get another mojave male, he's our baby and we just want to know if it's safe to breed him. If it isn't, we'll just keep him off the breeder list.

I know a breeder that bred a snake this year with major kinking, none of the babies were kinked.

I wouldn't breed a mojave with a kink, especially not knowing its history and how it got the kink.
