Moving Day!

Finally after months of will we won't we on whether or not we were gonna move or not the day is finally here! We are moving from Florida to Oklahoma, a 17 hour drive but with a big old 16 foot truck and a trailer on the back with our car it'll probably end up being more like 20 hours lol. Neither me or my boyfriend have never really driven anything that big so we'll be going real slow XD

We are moving mostly cause we are both actually from there (Only moved to Florida a year and a half ago when we got out of high school) and college is a lot cheaper. We are moving into a house instead of this apartment we've been living in which is amazing! ^-^ My dog will get a big yard to play in and I'm getting a little room for my snakes.

My first post to this forum was actually asking advice on the move months ago lol. I had sense decided we weren't gonna move then again that we were XD

We have our truck all packed and the snakes in a little sterilite box with foam padding and filled with newspaper as well and they are in two separate pillow cases. We have some hand warmers just in case sense it will get pretty cold at night and the more west we get. Our dog will also be riding in the cabin with us and the cat in their cage.

This is gonna be a looong ride lol

I've made a couple big moves in that same size truck also towing a car behind it. Only stop for gas at large truck stops if possible, Allow plenty of room for slowing down/braking, and make wide slow turns. Good luck! For your sake I hope you went with Penske over the other competitors

safe travels! don't Tapatalk and drive!

i've had a couple big moves in my life. 3years ago around this time i moved from the Bay/NorCal back to Seattle. i was in a similar setup - a 15foot Uhaul and my car on a trailer:



i took it slow and made it a 2 day drive by myself. it was really, really scary going through the the Siskiyou Mountain pass in the dark, rain, sleet and fog in the dark. i was around some big rigs but we all drove slowly (around 25mph) up and down and around the mountain curves.

Finally I just have a moment to chill and post XD

The drive ended up being 24 hours with me and my bf switching off driving every 5 hours or so, we got in last night and with some help quickly unpacked everything from the truck and passed out XD

The snakes made it here just fine and are all set up just chilling. Its been a little over a week sense they ate so I'm gonna go look around for a good store to buy from today and see if I can get some food in them

The house is ever nicer in person then in the pics, I'm excited
