How much do you pay for live rats and mice?

I've been selling my rats at wholesale price for $1.50 for a 'small' (50-100 grams) and $2 for a 'medium' (100-185 grams). Seems like I could get a lot more. I'm basically selling them at pet store wholesale prices so they can mark them up and resell them. Just curious how much you guys pay for a live rat at your local pet shop? I'm thinking of selling a few live rats at the local reptile shows next year and need to get an idea of what to charge.

At the small pet shop in my town, I pay $5.45 for a live smedium (not small, not a medium, just in between) rat. Only way I can get cheaper is from local BP breeder and his animals do not have good living conditions and I won't support that.
Anyways it's very affordable for me since when Khaa is on feed he only eats every two weeks.

Your sizes are off and while different sellers have varying ranges, yours are too generous. A small rat is 46-85 grams, a medium typically is 86-150 grams.

My local shop charges $2 for smalls and $3 for mediums but I get wholesale rates b/c I purchase so many there.

Re: How much do you pay for live rats and mice?

Check the venue first too. Some reptile expos don't allow the sale of live rodents whose eyes are opened. You may only be able to sell live rat pinks and or young rats whose eyes haven't opened yet.
Stay in peace and not pieces.
