    Re: Advantages Of Tubs/Racks

Many Blood and STP keepers use racks with the Iris "christmas tree" tubs. I *think* AP makes them and I'm sure C-serpents could make a rack with them also. You can get the christmas tree tubs at walmart, homedepot, etc. during the Christmas season... They are also basically a 40gl breeder footprint or larger and will work well. I know people that have housed dwarf boa males in these for life, as they are ~18" tall (at least).

For a carpet, a custom pvc cages is def. the way to go. I keep my jag. in a 4x2x18" AP pvc cage with shelf and climbing branches and he uses every inch of it...always out and on display and moving around.

If you are considering stand-alone tubs for any snakes, make sure you use luggage straps, binder clips, or other means to secure the tops, as the "tabs" they come with aren't enough. I prefer large binder clips.
    Currently keeping:

    1.0 Carpet 0.5 BPs
    0.2 cresteds 1.2 gargs

I use Rack and Tubs for all of mine except my original which is in a 40 g Breeder.

The Rack and Tubs takes up a lot less room when you have 24 snakes.
The cleaning on the tubs is very quick and easy.
The snakes seem to like it better as far as eating is concerned.
It is easier to maintain the heat and humidity.

With the visibility yes you will loose that but for ball pythons anyway that is not so much a con. They tend to eat better and are a lot less stressed.

My one snake that is in the breeder does good as well. But I have to spray down the cage 2-3 times a week. It is a 2 person job to safely move it to do a full cleaning of the tank.

This is my thoughts on the matter.
