I like the larger animals. All of my large ones have exceptional temperaments and are easy to deal with. I am intentionally breeding for the large animals which tend to be easy feeders.
Honest, I only need one more ...

I share your enthusiasm for larger ball pythons. I had always felt ball pythons would be perfect snakes if they were: (1) less picky eaters overall, and (3) a bit larger. I also find larger animals strike a nice balance between a longer but solidly built snake and the short "small blood python" look. I spent some effort awhile back looking for a person who specialized in "volta" ball pythons to see if I could acquire some reliably large (5000g+) CB snakes, but they seem to be few and far between.

The ones I have that have been bred for size are over 1000 grams at a year old. A phantom I produced last year is close to 2000 grams already. I am not really doing anything special with them, they just don't skip too many meals. I don't know if they have any of the "volta" blood or not. One of my founding sires was a big boy and seems to pass his size to his offspring.

Did you feed her every 5 days when she was young to help with that?
My almost 3 month olds eats like a champ and goes into feeding mode every 5 days it seems. I'm trying to cut her to 7.
I may keep it at every 5 so she gets bigger.

Babies eat every 5, juvies eat every 7 to 10, and adults are fed every 8 to 14 days.
