    My Bite-Mitzvah!

Finally happened, and of course is my dumb mistake while feeding. Gimel was totally sighted in on the rat, like a second away from striking, when i thought, "Hey I'd better move that hide behind her so she can get a good wrap."
Well she swung around 180 and tagged me so quick i couldn't believe it! Despite myself i did pull away a bit, though not too much, and she released almost immediately and then grabbed the rat a few seconds later. It smarted, but she is a tiny snake, i'm glad i learned my lesson now.

I got tagged by my little one a month or so ago. It was day 9 or so since her last feeding and she was hungry. I put my hand in and she nailed me. She is so sweet when she isn't hungry.

Yeah, its funny, this one is by far the "sweet" one. My other doesn't have an attitude or anything, he's just aloof, but this little girl is so gentle and calm...until there's a rat in the room, then the red mist descends...

    Re: My Bite-Mitzvah!

Amazing how they become different animals when the smell of food is in the room. I got tagged by my 3000gm female normal about 3 weeks ago and OMG did she wrap my hand or what? It was a feeding bite where she jetted right past the tongs and latched onto my right hand and began to wrap. She lost a tooth that was imbedded in my finger but neither of us is any worse today. Always remember to use the 32 inch tongs as opposed to the 15 inch when feeding the big pythons . That was where i went wrong.

I made a dumb mistake by carrying one of my girls into my mouse room one day. I have a rack in there with a few BPs in it, so I go in and out of there with snakes all the time, but she isn't one of the ones I keep in there. I was holding her and realized I'd left my spray bottle there, so I went to go get it. Didn't even think to put her down. The moment the smell of mice hit her nostrils, BAM!

She doesn't even eat mice, but I guess they smelled delicious. Thankfully she was only about 500g at the time, so it wasn't too bad even with her coiling around my hand. Took a bit of mouthwash to get her off.
