    Axanthic lines. Please help.

Is there anyway to know what line of axanthic you have, if no one ever told you?
I have a female axanthic (so I was told) she's a bit duller than some axanthics but not as dull as others. I bought her from someone that needed the money and have no clue what line she is. It's been a few years and would like to breed her. Are there distinct difference in the lines that show through? Is there anyway to tell which line she is?
Just would like to know so I know what to breed her with.
    Thank you in advance.

I think the most common line is VPI, so if you have to take a gamble on a male, I'd go with a VPI... The SKs are rarer, so odds are the seller would have knownif she was one.

I don't think the lines are visually different other than most VPIs holding better color as they age, but that varies by the individual, so is not much help.
    Currently keeping:
    1.0 BCA 1.0 BCI
    1.0 CA BCI 1.1 BCLs
    0.1 BRB 1.2 KSBs
    1.0 Carpet 0.5 BPs
    0.2 cresteds 1.2 gargs
    1.0 Leachie 0.0.1 BTS

No way to tell again this is why when you want to seriously get involve in breeding and not waste time or money you pay attention to lineage just like with hypo. The best looking one is VPI but like with everything ugly ducklings exist too.

So how do you find out, you buy a male VPI try it out either produce Axanthics or produce DH which will be unsalable for the most part (because people do care to know what they have, people buying axanthic do not buy this mutation as pet but breeders)

IF you produce DH then you proceed with TSK and than Joliff

In other words it could be a few years of work, lots of animal produced that nobody will want if your female is even Axanthic (your female hypo was not a female hypo), so you might as well start from scratch get some SOLID foundations for your collection and spare yourself the headaches.

Sorry there has been no breakthrough in visually ID'ing different lines of Axanthics since your last thread about 2 weeks ago: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...Axanthic-lines u got the BP on a deal and pretty much got what u paid for. As we've mentioned, breed her (if it is a her) to one line, probably start with VPI and keep moving down the line. Good luck.
