Baby Eastern only feeding on live toads

Hello, sorry for the newbie question, I currently have a CB baby Eastern Hognose who, at the moment, is only accepting live toads. She currently refuses to eat scented pinkies. As I live in Minnesota and October is right around the corner, the toads outside have already retreated into hibernation and I only have two live toads left to use as scenters--which basically means I need to hurry up and get her to accept scented pinkies.

I have only had one successful attempt at feeding her a pinky mouse, which involved me quickly switching out a live toad right as she was going after it.

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, i would continue to try scenting the pinkies. Too risky and unhealthy to depend on the wild toad population for the meals. Why dont you try buying some frozen frog legs and cut them up for feeding and scenting. My garter snakes love f/t frog legs cut up.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

Don't hold your snake till its eaten a few mice uninhibited.

    1st, try a live pinkie.

    2nd, try the scenting thing.

3rd, starve em out, they'll eat when they are hungry

ReptiLinks sells liquid frog scent and frog mini-links that are the size of a mouse pinky. When my hoggie gets picky I put a drop of frog scent on his feeder and he hits it immediately.

Update on ReptiLinks - they only ship once a month so if you want the frog scent your order needs to be in by noon tomorrow EST or you'll miss the cutoff. It does work for my hognose.
